In May I visited England and Wales with my daughter
and was able to explore some of the places I've featured
in my books.
Particularly magical was Deganwy, legendary site of the
fortress of Maelgwn the Great, the hero of my first and
third books.
ruins of Deganwy castle (built several hundred years after
Maelwyn the Great)

The nearby hills ablaze with with vivid yellow gorse bushes
and bluebells...
The climb to the top on a sheep trail thick with nettles and thistles...

and the view from above...mountains
sea...
and valley...
(that's Conwy Castle in the distance)

bathed in the golden glow of the sunset.

Other highlights of the trip included:
bluebells in the Forest of Dean

Cardiff Castle
Seashore at Llandudno, North Wales

arbor and gardens at the Museum of
Welsh life

Tower of London
